Your desert tour begins with an early morning pickup from your Marrakech accommodation. We’ll journey through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains, crossing the famous Tizi N’Tichka pass at 2260m altitude. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views with plenty of photo stops along the way.

By midday, we’ll reach the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a stunning example of Moroccan earthen clay architecture and filming location for numerous Hollywood productions including Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Explore this ancient fortified village with a local guide who’ll share insights into its rich history.

After lunch, we continue to Ouarzazate, known as “The Gateway to the Desert,” where we’ll visit the Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas Film Studios if time permits. Overnight in a comfortable hotel with dinner included.

Day 2: Ouarzazate → Draa Valley → Rissani → Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, we drive toward the Sahara Desert, traveling through the spectacular Draa Valley with its endless palm groves and ancient kasbahs. This valley follows Morocco’s longest river and has been a vital trade route for centuries.

We’ll stop at Nkob or Alnif for lunch before continuing to Rissani, a historic town once the capital of Tafilalet and birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty that still rules Morocco today. Here, you can explore the vibrant local souk and learn about the region’s rich history.

In the late afternoon, we arrive at Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, you’ll switch to camels for a magical trek across the golden dunes while witnessing a spectacular sunset over the Sahara Desert.
