    Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about camp comfort, food, and planning the best sahara desert tour.

Is 2 days enough time to visit the Merzouga desert from Marrakech?

While 2 days involve significant driving time (approximately 8-9 hours each way), it is enough to experience the highlights of the Sahara Desert, including camel trekking, overnight camping, and witnessing both sunset and sunrise over the dunes. For those with limited time in Morocco, our 2 days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga offers an efficient way to experience the magic of the Sahara. However, if your schedule allows, we recommend our 3-day tour for a more relaxed pace.

What type of accommodation is provided in the desert camp?

We offer both standard and luxury desert camp options. Standard camps feature comfortable traditional Berber tents with proper beds, blankets, and shared bathroom facilities. Our luxury camps provide private tents with en-suite bathrooms, proper beds with quality linens, elegant furnishings, and enhanced amenities. Both options include dinner and breakfast, and offer an authentic desert experience with traditional music around the campfire.

Is this tour suitable for children?

Yes, this tour is suitable for families with children, though parents should consider the long driving hours. Children typically enjoy the camel ride and desert experience. For younger children (under 6), we can arrange for them to ride on the same camel as a parent. We also offer family tents at our desert camps. Please inform us of the children’s ages when booking so we can make appropriate arrangements.

Is it safe to travel to the Merzouga desert?

The route from Marrakech to the Sahara is safe and popular with travelers. Our drivers are experienced and know the mountain roads and desert paths well. Morocco is famous for its hospitality, and the south is especially friendly to visitors from abroad.

Can I charge my phone and camera in the desert camp?

Most of our camps in Merzouga use solar power. You can usually charge your devices in the main dining tent or in your private tent if you book the luxury camp. We still recommend bringing a power bank so you can take plenty of photos of the dunes.

Is it safe to ride a Dromedary?

The camel ride to the camp takes about an hour and moves at a gentle pace, making it suitable for most ages. If you prefer not to ride a camel, we can arrange a 4×4 transfer to the camp at no extra cost. This way, you can still enjoy the sunset and the desert experience in comfort.
