    Our itinerary is designed to help you enjoy Morocco’s stunning landscapes, rich culture, and warm hospitality on your 3 day desert trip from Marrakech to the Sahara Desert.

    Day 1:Marrakech → High Atlas Mountains → Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou → Boumalne Dades

    Our 3-day Sahara desert tour from Marrakech begins with an early morning pickup from your accommodation in Marrakech, around 7:30 am. We’ll journey through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260m), the highest major mountain pass in North Africa. Along the way, we’ll stop at panoramic viewpoints to capture the breathtaking scenery.
     
    Our next stop is the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou. This spectacular fortified village has served as a backdrop for numerous Hollywood films, including Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Game of Thrones. You’ll have time to explore this ancient kasbah with your guide, learning about its fascinating history and architecture.
     
    After lunch at a local restaurant, we continue to Ouarzazate, known as “The Door of the Desert,” where we’ll visit the Taourirt Kasbah. Then we’ll drive along the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” through the Skoura palm grove and the Valley of Roses to reach the Dades Valley.
     
    If time permits, we’ll visit the remarkable rock formations known as “Monkey Fingers” before checking into your comfortable hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

    Day 2:Dades Valley → Tinghir → Todra Gorges → Merzouga → Erg-Chebbi dunes

    After breakfast, we depart for Tinghir, an oasis town known for its stunning palm groves. Here, we’ll visit the magnificent Todra Gorge, where massive rock walls rise 300 meters to form a narrow corridor through the Atlas Mountains. You’ll have time to walk through this impressive canyon and capture its beauty.
     
    Continuing our 3 day sahara trip, we’ll pass through Tinejdad, Erfoud, and Rissani, stopping for lunch along the way. In the afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Here, your camels will be waiting to take you on a 1-2 hour trek into the heart of the Erg Chebbi desert.
     
    Ride across the golden sands as the sun begins to set, creating a magical play of light and shadow across the dunes. You’ll stop at a high dune to watch the sunset before continuing to our luxury desert camp nestled among the dunes.
     
    After settling into your private tent, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner under the stars, followed by Berber drum music around the campfire. The night ends with stargazing in the clear desert sky, an unforgettable experience far from city lights.

    Day 3:Merzouga Desert → Draa Valley → Nkob – Tazarine → Ouarzazate → Marrakech

    Wake up early to witness a spectacular desert sunrise. After breakfast at the camp, you’ll trek back to Merzouga on a camel, where our vehicle will be waiting. Alternatively, you can choose to return by 4×4 vehicle at no extra cost.
     
    Our return journey to Marrakech takes a different route, traveling via the Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest river valley, stretching 1,100 kilometers. We’ll pass through Nkob, Tazarine, and the volcanic mountains of the Anti-Atlas range. After stopping for lunch in Ouarzazate, we continue through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass.
     
    Throughout the journey, your driver will be happy to stop for photos or breaks whenever you wish. We’ll return to Marrakech in the early evening, drop you off at your accommodation, and conclude our 3-day Sahara Desert Tour Morocco from Marrakech to Merzouga, with memories to last a lifetime.

    What is the best time of year for a 3 day Sahara desert trip from Marrakech?

    The ideal time for a desert tour is during spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) when temperatures are pleasant. Summer (June to August) can be extremely hot with temperatures exceeding 40°C (104°F), while winter (December to February) offers mild daytime temperatures but can be very cold at night in the desert, sometimes dropping below freezing. Each season offers a unique desert experience, and we operate tours year-round.

    Is the camel trek difficult? Are there alternatives?

    The camel trek is generally easy and suitable for most people, lasting about 1-2 hours each way. However, if you’re uncomfortable with camel riding or have physical limitations, we offer 4×4 vehicle transfers to and from the desert camp at no extra cost. Please inform us of your preference when booking.

    What are the accommodations like?

    On the first night, you’ll stay at a comfortable hotel or a traditional riad in the Dades Valley, with private bathroom facilities.
